Pole Position at Brands FIA F2 Support Race

Red Dragon had managed to secure this race weekend as a support race for the FIA F2 and GT open on the full GP circuit.

MR2 Racing with 750 Motor Club, Brands Hatch Indy

I decided to do this race meeting with ‘guest’ membership as most of these 750 rounds clashed with other racing commitments. Also the first Red Dragon MR2 meeting was also at this circuit so I thought this would be a good event to do to get used to the car and the circuit.

Le Man Legends 2009

Thursday’s 1 hour afternoon test / qualifying session started well with Adrian Willmott posting a time of 5.05 which at the time was the fourth fastest of the sixty plus cars on the grid. With Adrian’s family commitment he only had time to do 4 timed laps as he left to catch a flight as soon as he jumped out the car.

British GT Brands Hatch GP

Since we raced in the British GT Championship in the 2008 season the Aston Martin DBRS9 that we race has had 3 upgrade packages (one for each year).

Le Mans Legends 2011

Tom Alexander started the quali session in the DB4GTwhich was in class 3b. Having not done many laps around Le mans in previous years getting familiar to the track again was Tom’s main aim. He managed 6 laps in the opening half hour of the 60min session with a personal best time to build on.

Red Dragon MR2 Race Series, Castle Combe

Prior to this race meeting the troubled gearbox that had been a problem in previous races was removed with the clutch and replaced with an exchange unit. The leaking fluid dampers were also replaced with new gas dampers and the ride heights and set up re adjusted to accommodate.

Red Dragon MR2 Race Series, Brands Hatch Indy

This was my first ever Red Dragon race meeting competing against other Toyota MR2 mk1’s in a 1 make series. I had met some of the drivers previously at the 750 Brands event two weeks earlier. Having done that event I was confident that I could better my best lap time from that weekend during qualifying.

Goodwood Revival 18th 19th and 20th September 2009

This year’s Goodwood Revival saw us running two cars as we did at this event a year ago, the white 1960 DB4GT and the 1951 DB2 Aston Martin works team car.

Frustrating Final Round for Bentwood

Bentwood had been confident going into the weekend with the 22GT racing team having prepared well for the 2-hour mini-endurance race. Free practice had given Bentwood and the telecoms tycoon and team owner, Tom Alexander cause for optimism. The DBRS9 was just four hundredths of a second off the fastest time, giving them great confidence going into qualifying.
